Helen A. Conrad, 88, North Manchester, IN died at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center. She was born at Bippus, Indiana on March 2, 1923 to Willard & Emma (Murray) Little. On September 7, 1941 she married Frank Robert Conrad. He died January 17, 1997. Surviving are three daughters, Kay Conrad, Fond Du Lac, WI; Nancy (Mike) Berger, Elkhart, IN and Connie Conrad, Fond Du Lac, WI. Three brothers, Norman (Eileen) Little, Richard (Phyllis) Little, both of North Manchester, IN and Robert (Betty) Little, Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from Chester High School in 1941 and retired in 1985 from Heckman Bindrey where she was employed for 32 years. She also helped her husband on the family farm. She was an active member of the First Brethren Church, North Manchester and was a member of WMS. She served her church as a deaconess for 64 years. She was a charter member of the Jolly Janes Home Demonstration Club over 50 years. She and her husband had traveled to all 50 states. Helen was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and reading. Services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN with calling one hour prior to services. Friends and family may also call on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Kurt Stout will officiate and burial will follow at Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Helen A. Conrad, memorial contributions may be made to the First Brethren Church, 407 N. Sycamore St., North Manchester, IN or Timbercrest Senior Living Community, PO Box 501, North Manchester, IN 46962.
