Harry G. Barrett, 71, Liberty Mills, IN died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born at Amherstdale, W.V. on June 2, 1939 to John Henry & Mamie E. (Taylor) Barrett. On December 25, 1957 he married Mary A. Howes. She died May 31, 1999. On March 13, 2004 he married Jane Campbell. She survives. Also surviving are five sons, Wayne Barrett, Jason (Jodi) Barrett, both of North Manchester, IN; Samuel (Rosie) Barrett, Terry (Deborah) Barrett and Harry (Debra) Barrett, all of Liberty Mills, IN. A brother, John (Marlena) Barrett, North Manchester, IN. Two sisters, Beulah Hurley, Princeton, W.V. and Mrs. Frank (Mary Belle) Music, North Manchester. Twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. One brother is deceased. Harry was a coal miner for five years in West Virginia before moving his family to Indiana. Later he worked 33 years at United Technologies in North Manchester and retired from Dexter Axle, North Manchester. He was a member of the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, enjoyed vintage cars, and loved his grandchildren and family gatherings. Services will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, 71 N. Third Street, Liberty Mills, IN. Friends and family may call on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 4 - 8 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Pastor Kelly Beutler and Pastor Chad McAtee will officiate and burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Harry Barrett, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
