Harold "Harry" A. Machall, born on December 4, 1944, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Louis A. and Martha A. (Summers) Machall, passed away at his home on January 27, 2025, with his loving wife, Claudia, by his side. A devoted husband and Catholic, Harry will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and his passion for life. 

After completing his early education at Huntington Catholic School, Harry went on to study accounting at Indiana University in Bloomington and later at IPFW in Fort Wayne. His professional journey led him through various fields, including business sales and management, real estate, and financial planning. Through his career, he exemplified integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Harry was a passionate traveler. He visited a multitude of countries, including Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, North Africa, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, and traveled extensively throughout the United States. His love for travel was paralleled only by his fascination with history, photography, and woodworking—pursuits that enriched his life and inspired those around him.

Harry's personal life was marked by his marriage to Claudia Garretson on June 21, 1997. Together, they created countless memories, exploring the world and enjoying each other's company. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership, inspiring many with their shared adventures and deep affection.

The loving memory of Harold “Harry” Machall will be forever cherished by his wife, Claudia Machall, North Manchester; many nieces and nephews; Claudia’s children, Jan King, Huntington and Lora (Joe) King-Pilotte, Brazil, Indiana; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; brother Louis Allen Machall; and sister, Lorraine Jung.

A graveside service to honor Harry’s life will take place on February 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Huntington, Indiana, with Father Jay Horning officiating.
