Harold H. A. Bolinger, 85, North Manchester, IN died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. He was born at Kosciusko County, Indiana on February 23, 1926 to Alvin A. & Orpha A. (Weller) Bolinger. On June 4, 1950 he married Rosemary Brubaker. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey L. (Judy) Bolinger, Thorntown, IN and Jerry K. (Mary) Bolinger, North Manchester, IN. A daughter, Cheryl D. (Kevin) McKirnan, Celina, OH. A brother, Ralph (Gloria) Bolinger, North Manchester, IN and a sister, Phyllis (Earl) Montel, North Manchester, IN. Four grandchildren, Jeni (Matt) Slaven, Balwin, MO; Jeremy (Allison) Bolinger, League City, TX, Andrew & Ashton Bolinger, North Manchester, IN. Two great-grandchildren, Colton & Sydney Slaven, Balwin, MO. One brother is deceased. Harold worked with his father at the Bolinger Farm Implement Store in North Manchester. He also farmed with his father for several years. He was the owner of Bolinger Furniture Store at North Manchester for 30 years. He graduated in 1944 from Chester High School where he was a charter member of Future Farmers of America (FFA). He raised registered shorthorn cattle, cheviot sheep and several purebreed breeds of rabbits. He was a Sunday School teacher and deacon at West Manchester Church of the Brethren and Eel River Community Church of the Brethren. He was a 50 year member of Gideons International. He and his wife Rosemary often sang together for numerous occasions, and Harold sang with the Chain-O-Lakes Barber Shop Chorus for 40 years, and sang with the River City Gospel Choir. He was an avid nature lover and enjoyed collecting Indian arrowheads and artifacts. Harold was a very studious Bible reader. Services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, 2507 E. State Road 14, Silver Lake, IN. Calling is one hour prior to the service. Calling also on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN . Rev. Paul Tinkel will officiate and burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.
