Gregory "Greg" Wayne Welch, born on October 21, 1982, in Wabash, passed away tragically on February 4, 2025, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. The son of Wayne Welch and Brenda (Turner) Wallen, Greg was a cherished individual whose vibrant personality touched the lives of many.

A graduate from Northfield High School in 2002, Greg was a proud member of the state championship baseball team. Throughout his life, athletics remained a vital aspect. He found great joy in sports, becoming a professional in disc golf and participating on the Battalion Team and Cannonball Disc Golf. Greg also cherished golfing with friends, his dad, and brother, and enjoyed playing flag football and basketball at the YMCA in Wabash.

Greg served his country with pride in the United States Army, participating in tours in Turkey and Syria. His commitment to the military did not end with his service; he remained active in the community as a member of the Lagro American Legion Post 248, continuing to support veterans and active service members. After being Honorably Discharged, Greg pursued various careers, ultimately finding his niche in sales. He excelled as a Business Development Manager at G6 - Military Grade IT in Fort Wayne, where his skills and dedication made a lasting imprint.

An outgoing individual, Greg had a remarkable ability to engage with anyone about anything. His fearless spirit, loyalty, and patience defined his personality and allowed him to forge lasting connections with those around him. The outdoors held a special place in Greg's heart. He loved hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting, and he dedicated time to coaching at Bass and Bucks, helping and teaching children the skills of hunting. Above all, Greg was a family man, reveling in the joy of being with children and creating memories with them.

On September 10, 2022, Greg married Mysti Westafer, a union that brought him immense happiness and love. Mysti and those who knew him will always remember Greg's warmth and dedication to family and friends. Greg made the decision to give his life to the Lord on January 26, 2025 at New Song Church in Wabash, where he was a member.

The loving memory of Greg Welch will be forever cherished by his wife, Mysti Welch, Wabash; mother, Brenda Wallen, Wabash; father, Wayne Welch, Warsaw; sons, Brayden Shrock, Wabash, Brantley “Fred” Welch, Peru, Ethan Shambarger, Mentone, and Evan Shambarger, Wabash; daughters, Brylee Welch, Wabash and Lilly Conliff, Wabash; brother, Nathan (Tabitha) Welch, Wabash; sister, Kebrina Metzler, Paris, Tennessee; one grandchild; and the many friends he made over the years. Greg was preceded in death by his step-father, David “Dave” Wallen; brother, Kyle Welch; and sister, Darinda Gross.

Family and friends may call Monday, February 10, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Tony Mercer officiating. Burial will be held at Falls Cemetery, 725 Falls Ave., Wabash, Indiana.
