Glennis Anne Macy, beloved wife, sister, aunt, dedicated nurse, and cherished friend, passed away on November 28, 2024, at TureCare Healthcare in Auburn, Indiana, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Born on January 19, 1957, in Memphis, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Verlin Messman and Dorothy Mae (Robertson) Roberts, Glennis brought joy and light into the lives of everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School in 1976, Glennis continued her journey into nursing at Lutheran Nursing School, where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). For over thirty-five years, she was a vital part of the Parkview community, beginning her career in Labor and Delivery. Her compassion and unwavering dedication to her profession were evident not only through her work but also through the lives she touched during her career, culminating in her retirement in 2017.
In her personal life, Glennis was endlessly adventurous. She met the love of her life, Steven Macy, at Parkview, and they married on May 21, 1982. Together, they embarked on countless adventures that spanned the beautiful landscapes of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, and British Columbia. Their bond was a testament to the joy of exploration and the power of shared experiences.
Glennis was more than just a caregiver; she was a vibrant personality who embraced life with style and flair. She had a penchant for shopping, which reflected her classy and flashy nature. Her infectious laughter and bright spirit captivated those around her, making every gathering memorable.
The loving memory of Glennis Macy will be forever cherished by her husband, Steven Macy, Spencerville, Indiana; brother, Adrian DuVaul, Fort Wayne; sister, Robbye (Fredrick) Jones, North Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. Glennis was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may call Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Meghanne Jones and Pastor Jeremy Jones officiating. Graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery (Midtown), Memphis Tennessee, at a later date.
