Gerald Wayne "Gerry" Bishop, 78, Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away December 31, 2021, at University Park Health Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born July 14, 1943 in Wabash, Indiana, Gerry was the son of Kempies "Kempy" and Ruth L. (Walker) Bishop.

After graduating high school, Gerry went on to attend college. A few years later he enlisted in the Department of the Army and the Air Force National Guard. After serving his country, Gerry started his professional career at Belmont Beverage. Over the span of thirty-nine years, he worked his way up to sales clerk and manager where he was tasked with turning around stores that weren’t doing well.

Gerry was an outgoing gentleman who got along with everyone. He enjoyed socializing at the North Manchester Loyal Order of the Moose, where he was a member. He also held membership with the American Legion. Gerry had a great passion for collectables and particularly enjoyed collecting antiques.

The loving memory of Gerald Wayne “Gerry” Bishop will be forever cherished by his brother, LeRoy (Dorcas) Bishop, North Manchester, Indiana; nephews, Michael (Barb) Bishop, Fort Wayne, Indiana and Patrick Bishop, Los Angeles, California; nieces, Lisa (Ray) Mathias, Roann, Indiana and Annette Urschel, Silver Lake, Indiana; many great nieces and nephews; and the many coworkers and friends he made during his life. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Kempies and Ruth Bishop.

A graveside service will be held at South Pleasant Cemetery, 5064 West 1400 North, North Manchester, Indiana, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to honor the memory of Gerry Bishop, memorial contributions may be made to the South Pleasant Church, 5064 West 1400 North, North Manchester, Indiana 46962.

The family of Gerry Bishop has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
