He was born April 25, 1933 in Whitley County, IN to Ernest D. & Etha Lovell (Druley) Stayer. On October 1, 1955 he married Phyllis Sims. He worked at Controls, North Manchester, IN for 35 years. He served in the US Army in the Korean War. He was a member of Missionary Church, North Manchester, IN and a life member of Moose, North Manchester, IN and past member of American Legion Post #286, North Manchester, IN. Gerald enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Stayer, North Manchester, IN; one son, Brian (Marjory) Stayer, North Manchester, IN; three daughters, Gail Stayer, North Manchester, IN, Diana (Steve) Music, North Manchester, IN and Elaine Fletcher, North Manchester, IN; two brothers, Frank (Imogene) Stayer, Kendallville, IN, Everett (Dorothy) Stayer, Huntington, IN; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
