Gary D. Jones

Gary D. Jones, 62, North Manchester, Indiana passed away at 6:53 p.m. on January 19, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. On May 27, 1956 Gary was born in Wabash County, Indiana to Philip M. and Mable A. (Bash) Jones.

After graduating from Manchester High School in 1975, Gary dedicated his life to helping those in need. Evidence of this can be seen as he was an auxiliary officer for the town of Silver Lake in the late 1970’s. After moving to Manchester, he was employed with EMS for 20 years and also was a volunteer firefighter in the late 1980’s thru the early 1990’s. Gary also volunteered with Traffic Assistance Patrol for 15 years. For the last 24 years, Gary worked as a material handler at Wabash Valley Manufacturing, Silver Lake, Indiana.

On August 10, 1990 Gary married the love of his life and best friend Teresa A. Hashbarger. When Gary wasn’t helping others, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. On Sunday’s he could be found following his favorite NASCAR driver Joey Logano. Most of all though, he loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren.

The loving memory of Gary D. Jones will be carried on by his wife, Teresa Jones, North Manchester; two sons, Shane Jones, Warren, Indiana and Brent Monce, North Manchester; three daughters, Angie Eldridge, North Manchester, Melisa (Jeremy) Callahan, North Manchester and Lizzie (Josh) Eads, Sheridan, Indiana; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Terry and Mike Jones; and one sister, Vicki Whitacker.

Family and friends may call Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will be begin on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, Indiana. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.
