Gary Duane Frey, 70, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on December 26, 2019 in his home. Born on May 16, 1949, Gary was the son of Paul Frey Jr., and Velma (Frantz).
Gary was a determined, hard worker that enjoyed living and working on the farm. He was a man that had the gift of being able to make something out of nothing. From pigs, to horses, to his dog, Gary loved all animals. During his time of driving truck for a living, Gary became part of the Million Mile Club. This was an accomplishment that he was fond of, but nothing compared to the loved he had for his wife, kids, and grandkids. Gary married Mary Ann Hoover on January 25, 2003. Together they attended the Old German Baptist Brethren Church-New Conference, North Manchester, Indiana.
The loving memory of Gary Duane Frey will be forever cherished by his mother, Velma and step-father, Don Hantelman; wife, Mary Ann Frey, North Manchester, Indiana; son, Barry Frey, Valparaiso, Indiana; three daughters, Jenny (Chad) Betten, Little River, North Carolina, Pauletta (Kevin) Runkel, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Sherry (Justin) Collins, Fort Wayne, Indiana; step-son, Eric (Lori) Damron, Rochester, Indiana; two step-daughters, Beth (Keith) Starkweather, South Whitley, Indiana and Candy (Ian) Poston, North Manchester, Indiana; one sister, Dian (Donnie) Adkins, Pierceton, Indiana; nine grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Paul Frey Jr.; two sons, Gary Duane Frey Jr. and Scott Eugene Frey; and step-son, Harold Damron.
Family and friends may call Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion on calling. Larry Cripe will officiate. Burial will be at the Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, State Road 13 North, North Manchester, Indiana.
