G. Frederic Roop

G. Frederic Roop, 94, North Manchester, IN died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center. He was born June 1, 1917 in Geneva, IN to George E. & Carrie (Lindsey) Roop. On June 1, 1940 he married Lois Berkebile. He retired in 1982 as personnel administrator of American Electric Power, Fort Wayne, IN. He was a member of the Personnel Club and Associated Churches Board both of Fort Wayne, IN and Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, IN and a former member of Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, Fort Wayne, IN where he served as moderator for several years. He is survived by his wife, Lois Roop, North Manchester, IN; one son, Eugene (Delora) Roop, Anderson, IN; two daughters, Mrs. Dan (Patricia) Burgette, Tetonia, WY and Mrs. John (Shirley) Mumy, Allendale, MI; one sister, Ruth Cordier, Paxton,IL; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One brother and one grandchild are deceased. Services January 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. The family will receive friends following the service. Pastor Kurt Borgmann will officiate. Private family burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. The family has entrusted McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, IN with final arrangements.
