Frances K. Johnson, 97, North Manchester, IN died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born November 8, 1916 in Brantford, North Dakota to William A. & Maude M. (Miller) Deardorff. On October 18, 1936 she married Ralph W. Johnson. He died October 27, 1998. She was a homemaker, pastor's wife and part time Tupperware sales. She was involved with many musical activities throughout her life. Frances had several musical pieces publish. She sang in and directed many church choirs and Timbercest Choir. She collaborated with her sister, Della Davis, on several musical pieces. She taught school for a short time in Astoria, IL. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, IN. Frances graduated from Cherry Grove High School, Rice Lake, WI in 1935. She is survived by four sons, Vernon (Mary Jane) Johnson, East Peoria, IL, Alvin (Marjorie J.) Johnson, Los Angeles, CA, Stephen (Tammie Bowers) Johnson, North Manchester, IN and Stan Johnson, Yucaipa, CA; one daughter, Alice (Lyle) Hildebrand, Sebring, FL; one sister, Della Davis, North Manchester, IN; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. One son, Lynn Dale Johnson, died in 1954. Three brothers are also deceased. Service Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Shawgo Funeral Home, Astoria, IL. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Ocotber 19, 2014 at Shawgo Funeral Home, Astoria, IL. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery, Astoria, IL. Memorial service November 1, 2014 2:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, IN. Family will receive friends following the service.
