F. Eugene "Gene" Fisher, North Manchester, IN formerly of Warsaw, IN died at 7:10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born September 4, 1917 in Logansport, IN to William H. & Grace (Hunter) Fisher. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1935 and served with the US Navy during WWII. On May 27, 1938 he married June Dahms. Gene worked for NIPSCO for 32 years and retired in 1977. He was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw, IN, American Legion Post 49, Warsaw, IN for over 50 years and Masonic Lodge #73, Warsaw, IN for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, June Fisher, North Manchester, IN; two grandsons, Eddie Leas, Marion, IN & Matthew Leas, Florida; one nephew, Stephen (Linda) Leedy, Terre Haute, IN; one niece, Barbara Wampler, Warsaw, IN and two great grandchildren. One daughter, Linda Sue Leas, died in 1991. Two sisters, Thelma Leedy and Doris Nellans are deceased. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, IN. No calling is planned. Chaplain Don Fecher will officiate.
