Esther Berniece Ireland, 84, North Manchester, IN died at 11:51 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born December 23, 1925 in Wabash County, Indiana to Raymond & Docha M. (Sippy) Shewman. On February 14, 1952 she married Marion "Bud"Ireland. He died March 11, 2010. Surviving are two sons, Gordon Ireland, North Manchester, IN and Marion "Buddy" Ireland III, Wabash, IN. Five daughters, Margaret Cartwright and Ruth DeTurk, both of North Manchester, IN; Mary Dryden and Melinda Johnson, both of Bonita Springs, FL; Maria Ireland, Ft. Wayne, IN. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty four greatgrandchildren and three great-greatgranchildren. One son, Three brothers and three sisters are deceased. Esther was a member of the Liberty Mills United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post # 402, Laketon, IN; a 1944 graduate of Laketon High School and was employed with the former Bryan Manufacturing and Controls Co., both at North Manchester; Chamberlain Manufacturing at South Whitley, IN and General Tire and Wabash, IN. A homemaker and farmer's wife, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Most recently, she and Bud delivered newspapers to area residence for several years. Services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 12 pm - 2 pm.
