Emmert F. Rice

Emmert F. Rice, 79, North Manchester, IN and formerly of Chicago, IL died at 7:35 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born December 15, 1930 at Burkettsville, MD to Aaron & Estie (Guyton) Rice. On June 15, 1957 he married Dorothy Wenger. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Dwayne (Sherry) Rice, Lake Villa, IL; two daughters, Sharon (Fred Galluzzo) Rice, Elmhurst, IL; Diane (James) Mikols, Westmont, IL. A brother, Ernest (Phyllis) Rice, Westminster, MD; two sisters, Eileen Stall, Walkersville, MD and Pauline Duble, Thurmont, MD. One grandchild, Lauren Rice Eby, Boston, MA. Four sisters are deceased. Emmert had a BA in music education from Bridgewater College and attended Bethany Seminary in Chicago, IL. For 30 years he was a forecast analyst for Sears Roebuck Co., Chicago, IL. He was a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren. Services will be held Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Pastor Kurt Borgmann will officiate and burial will be at a later date in the Manchester Church of the Brethren Memorial Gardens. For those who wish to honor the memory of Emmert F.
