Emma Lou Allen

Emma Lou Allen, 91, North Manchester, IN died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her residence in Peabody Retirement Community. She was born in Wabash County, Indiana on July 28, 1921 to Bruce & Mildred (Barnett) Meyer. On December 24, 1939 she married Harold L. Allen. He died October 7, 1995. Emma Lou was a 1939 graduate of Chester High School, member of the 39er's Club, WW II Mothers, and attended Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, IN. She was employed at Eaton Controls, North Manchester from 1959-1985. Surviving are two sons, Robert Allen and Danny Joe (Willodean) Allen, both of North Manchester, IN. Two daughters, Mrs. Eddie (Janice) Wood, Claypool, IN and Saundra Hoagland, Warsaw, IN. Also surviving are six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two sisters, Eleanor Winger, North Manchester, IN and Rosemary Lynch, Silver Lake, IN. Services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Saturday, December 1, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate and burial will follow in Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake, IN.
