Ella Mae Weaver, 94, North Manchester, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 9:45 a.m. on October 6, 2017 at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester. Daughter of Harry E. and Ida Rebecca (Hawbecker) Stern, Ella Mae was born on April 2, 1923 in Beaverton, Michigan.

On August 17, 1947 Ella Mae Stern married Paul M. Weaver. The two spent 51 wonderful years together before Paul passed away on July 2, 1999. Both graduates of Manchester College, the two of them were missionaries in Nigeria from 1961-1967. Devoting their careers to education, Ella Mae retired in 1984 from the Elgin, IL school district as a Teachers Aid.

Family and faith was always an important aspect of life to Ella Mae. A member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, Indiana, she taught her children the importance of faith. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Uno, and dominoes with her family and anyone else that would play with her. Before her health declined in the last year, Ella Mae loved to attend Manchester College sporting events, sing in the church choir, delivering mail to the Healthcare Wing at Timbercrest and being a part of any activities that Timbercrest put on. When she wasn't with her family and friends, Ella Mae liked to relax by watching Golden Girls or Everyone Loves Raymond. Ella Mae will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma and friend.

Ella Mae Weaver is survived by one son, Thomas G. (Leslie) Weaver; one daughter Rebecca Mae Weaver, both of Amherst Junction, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her friends at Timbercrest Retirement Community. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Ida Stern, three brothers and three sisters.

A celebration of life will be held June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, Indiana.
