Ella Marie Shepherd

Ella Marie Hale Shepherd, 83, North Manchester, IN died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 in her residence. She was born June 6, 1929 in Prestonsburg, KY to Ben & Martha (Shepherd) Hale. On June 25, 1949 she married Walter Shepherd. He died October 17, 2000. Ella was a homemaker and volunteer at the Thrift Shop, North Manchester, IN. She was a member of Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, Silver Lake, IN where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. She loved her flower gardens and her grandpuppy "Harley". She is survived by two sons, Walt (Sharon) Shepherd Jr., Columbia City, IN and Jeffrey Shepherd, North Manchester, IN; Six daughters, Carol Shepherd, North Manchester, IN, Pamela (Dennis) Helmer, Rexford, MT, Barbara Honeycutt, Silver Lake, IN, Mary (Jim) Bucher, North Manchester, IN, Bonnie (Mitchell) Shenefield, North Manchester, IN and Haley (Doug) Sims, Westfield, IN; two brothers, Henry (Rachel) Nelson, Canal Winchester, OH and Charlie (Ruth) Nelson, David, KY; four sisters, Rosa Shepherd, Warsaw, IN, Judy (Randall) Calhoun, Georgetown, KY, Nancy (Doris Ray) Delong, Belleville, MI and Christine (Sherman) Goble, Prestonsburg, KY; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Four brothers, one sister, one grandson and one son-in-law are deceased. Friends and family may call Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 2:00-5:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 W, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, 303 South Jefferson Street, Silver Lake, IN. Pastor Frank Whitaker will officiate. Burial in Swank Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.
