Ella Ree Moore, 95, Warsaw, formerly of Claypool, Indiana, passed away December 27, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was born to Smith and Hattie Mae (Howard) Allen on November 30, 1926 in Kentucky and was one of seven children.
On June 14, 1946 Ella Ree married her best friend and love of her life, Canton Moore. During their seventy-four years of marriage, they had one son, Jeffrey. Canton later passed away on August 24, 2020.
For twenty years, Ella Ree worked at RR Donnelley in Warsaw. She was an extraordinary homemaker who lived a simple life and was grateful for everything in it. She was a sweet, kindhearted lady who loved spending time with her brothers, sisters, son, and especially her grandchildren. Before Canton and Ella Ree’s health began to fail, they attended the Congregational Christian Church in North Manchester.
The loving memory of Ella Ree Moore will be forever cherished by her son, Jeffrey Moore, Elkhart, Indiana; grandchildren, Taylor (Jennifer) Moore, Atlanta, Georgia, Nicholas (Katie) Moore, Jersey City, New Jersey, and Caroline Moore, Indianapolis, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Miles Moore, Cord Moore, Winni Moore, and Emory Moore. Ella Ree was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Canton Moore; brothers, Chester and Grover Allen; sisters, Jane Whitaker, Stella Patrick, Virginia Neeley, and Dolly Sloan.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Myrtle Glen Drive, Silver Lake, Indiana with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
The family of Ella Ree Moore has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
