Elaine Charlotte Frieden, 84, North Manchester, IN died at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born September 12, 1928 in North Manchester, IN to Cecil L. & Mae E. (Christman) Eiler. Elaine was a lifelong resident of North Manchester and graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, IN class of 1946. She married Keith D. Frieden on December 6, 1947. He is deceased. She was a homemaker and had worked at Essex Wire, North Manchester, IN for 20 years. Elaine was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, IN, Women of the Moose and a former member of Tri Kappa. She and her mother started the first firemen's auxiliary for Chester Twp. Fire Dept. Her first love was for family & friends and writing poetry. She played piano by ear and as a young girl she and her sister, Suzanne, danced and sang for the residents of Peabody Home. She enjoyed the North Manchester Community Pool, taking trips with family, collecting antiques and horseback riding. She loved life and never had a bad word for anybody. She is survived by two sons, Gary S. (Theresa) Frieden, Greenfield, IN and William A. (Garnet) Frieden, North Manchester, IN; one daughter, Julie (Delmer) Owens, Silver Lake, IN; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. One sister, Suzanne Miller, is deceased. Family & friends may call Friday, April 19, 2013 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut Street, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut Street, North Manchester, IN. Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate.
