Earl V. "Butch" Amburgey, 60, North Manchester, IN died at 11:58 a.m. Sunday at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born June 27, 1955 in Hamilton, Ohio to John C. and Mary R. (Tidwell) Amburgey. He married Linda D. Hanger on July 22, 1995. Earl was a truck driver for Sharkey Transportation for the last year and a half. He was also an over the road truck driver for many years and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, golf, vegetable gardening, and mushroom hunting. He was also a good cook and loved to spend time with his family. Earl was a great story and joke teller, along with being a loving husband and father. During Earl's stint with the US Marines, he served as a guard at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Linda, three sons David E. Amburgey, Kendallville, IN; Tyler J.W. Amburgey, North Manchester, IN; and Daryl (Andrea) Hanger, Greenwood, IN; two daughters, Brenda D. Amburgey-Murphy, Butler, IN; Susan M. (Dustin) Martin, Perry, OH; his brother Paul Jene Knox, Clay City, KY; and three sisters, Brenda (Gary) Madden, Hindman, KY; Betty Amburgey, Hindman, KY; and Athaga (Charlie) Johnson, Hindman, KY; and six grandchildren. Earl is preceded in death by his daughter Amanda J. Amburgey. Family and friends may call Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 St. Rd. 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Service will be held Wednesday November 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor Kurt Borgmann and Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.
