She later moved to North Manchester where she was a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren, serving as a Sunday School teacher and on the church board. She worked in the cafeteria at Manchester College and retired from Manchester Community Schools as a Librarian in 1980. She volunteered in many activities; her favorites were working at One World Handcrafts in North Manchester and holding Bible Study classes for the inmates at the Wabash County Jail.

She is survived by three daughters Marilyn (Richard) Jones, Polo, Illinois, Anne (James) Hollinger, The Villages, Florida, and Karen Sue (Milan) Mishler, North Manchester, Indiana; two sons, Mack (Becky) Whitmore, Chilton, Wisconsin and Dan (Ellen) Whitmore, Mechanicsville, Virginia; one brother Clyde Fry, Mansfield, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
