Dorothy M. Gray

1926-2009

Dorothy M. Gray, 83, North Manchester, IN died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 in her residence. She was born at Roann, IN on April 30, 1926 to Elmer W. & Elsie L. (Martin) Steele. On April 30, 1944 she married Harry B. Gray. He died November 14, 1959. She retired in 1993 from Dollar General Warehouse, Scottsville, KY. Dorothy was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester and attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Wabash. She was a member of the American Legion Post # 323, St. Marys, OH and was active with the Senior Citizens Club at Wabash. She was an avid bingo player. Surviving are a grandson, Robert J. (Hope) Gray II, Wabash, IN. Two great-grandchildren, Wesley & Easton Gray. Two step-sons, Tom Ashford, Sidney,OH and Dan Ashford, Glasgow, KY. Four brothers, Raymond (Marcia) Steele, Wabash, IN; Joseph Harley (Lou)Steele, North Liberty, IN; William (Rebekah) Steele and Richard (Diana) Steele, both of North Manchester. One sister, Betty (Lawrence) Bonewitz, North Manchester. One son, Robert J. Gray died in 1972. She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. SERVICES WILL BE HELD FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2009 AT 10:30 A.M. IN MCKEE MORTUARY, 1401 STATE ROAD 114 WEST, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN. FRIENDS AND FAMILY MAY CALL ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17, FROM 3 - 8 P.M. AT THE MORTUARY. Pastor Kerri McFarland will officiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Dorothy M.
