Darrell G. Smith, 74, Sidney, IN died at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born at Muncie, Indiana on February 9, 1938 to Ward & Lucille (Morrical) Smith. They are deceased. In 1957 he graduated from Muncie Central High School and later earned his Bachelors Degree in land survey and building construction technology from Purdue University. He was a land surveyor and retired from Larry R. Long Associates, Warsaw, IN. Darrell served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. On April 25, 1964 he married Sharon K. Flowers. She survives along with one daughter, Lynn Smith, South Whitley, IN. One son, Douglas M. Smith and one sister are deceased. Services will be held Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor Jim Garrett will officiate and burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.
