Constance Marie Cripe

Constance Marie Cripe, 82, North Manchester, IN died at 5:11 a.m. November 27, 2009 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born August 20, 1927 in Selma, VA to Walter O. and Ada Kathryn (Carter) Dewese. On August 20, 1947 she married Rev. Mervin A. Cripe. He died September 5, 2002. She graduated from Gauley Bridge (WV) High School in 1943 and Bridgewater College in 1947 with a BS in Chemistry. She was active in the musical life of the churches where her husband was pastor: Swan Creek Church of the Brethren near Wauseon, OH, Eel River Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, IN and Brook Park Community Church, Brook Park, OH. She retired in 1987 after 25 years as an elementary school teacher, at Brook Park Memorial Elementary School, Brook Park, OH which is in the Berea City School District, Berea, OH. She enjoyed classical music and playing organ, piano, guitar and trombone. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester and had been a resident of Timbercrest Senior Living Community since 1993. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marian) Corya, Indianapolis, IN and two grandsons, Mark A. Bever, Chicago, IL and David J. (Megan) Bever, Felton, DE. One daughter, Peggy Jo Cripe, died in 1959. One sister is deceased. SERVICES SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2009 AT 11:00 A.M. AT TIMBERCREST CHAPEL, 2201 EAST STREET, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN. CALLINGE ONE HOUR PRIOR TO SERVICES AT TIMBERCREST CHAPEL, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN. Rev. Gordon Bucher and Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate. Burial in Ulrey Cemetery, Kosciusko County, IN.
