Conrad Snavely, 97, North Manchester, IN died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born May 19, 1918 in Seneca, OH to Glenn & Lucile (Byerly) Snavely. A 1943 Graduate of Manchester College. Licensed in the Christian Ministry in 1939 at Fostoria, OH Church of the Brethren. Bethany Biblical Seminary 1946 graduate. On June 6, 1943 he married Irma Grace Fisher. She died September 18, 1998. He then married Bertha Custer on April 15, 2000. She died July 11, 2015. He was a church of the Brethren Pastor in Manassas, VA for 6 years, Salamonie, IN for 8 years, Hope, MI for 6 years and a Missionary to Nigeria from 1968-1973. Director of Camp Brethren Heights, Rodney, MI for 6 years where he also served the Rodney Church. Manchester College Maintenance Dept. for 7 years. Member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren since 1979 where he served on the Board for 6 years, and chair of the Memorial Garden Committee for a number of years and sang in the choir for many years. Served on Annual Conference Standing Committee for 3 years. Moderator of Michigan District, Wabash County Habitat Board for 8 years. President of Wabash County Council on Aging Board for 8 years. He is survived by two sons, James Snavely, San Benito, TX and Brent Snavely, Royal Oaks, MI; Two brothers, Errol Snavely, Lewisville, IN and Welton Snavely, Nonington, England; one sister, Frances Gilbert, Jeffersonville, IN. Four brothers and one sister are deceased. Family and friends may call Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Kurt Borgmann will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens at Manchester Church of the Brethren.
