Christine N. Mason, 87, North Manchester, IN formerly of Houston, TX died at 12:50 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN. She was born July 7, 1927 in Esther, MO to Dewey & Christine (Robinson) Jennings. She married James Mason. He died in 1984. She was secretary retiring in 1984 from an oil company in Houston, TX where she read maps of oil field to determine where drilling rigs would be set. After retirement she spent several years as a nanny to the children of two families. She was a member of Lutheran Church, Houston, TX. She had a very special relationship with her first born grandson, Jimmy Mullenix. She is survived by her son, Donald Eugene Mason, Paxton, IL; one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Marjorie Ann) Mullenix, Houston, TX; one brother, James Jennings, Park Hills, MO; two sisters, Shirley Price, Laketon, IN and Mary Lou Jennings, Bonne Terre, MO; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One brother and two sisters are deceased. Family and friends may call Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. Rev. Sue Babovec will officiate. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, IN.
