Carmen Marks

Carmen Rojas Marks, born on July 16, 1927, in Houston, Texas, to Medardo and Otilia (Castro) Rojas, passed away on March 8, 2025, at Timbercrest Healthcare Center in North Manchester. She lived a vibrant and full life, marked by her sharp wit, strong will, and intuitive understanding of those around her.

Carmen had a dedicated career, initially employed with Peabody Seating Company until its closing, after which she began a new journey with United Technologies. She continued her professional endeavors there until her retirement in 1992, embodying a strong work ethic that she maintained throughout her life.

Outside of her career, Carmen was a woman of diverse interests and talents. She found joy in bowling and crocheting. Her meticulous nature was evident in her beautiful yard, before her health began to decline. Although she enjoyed being outgoing and sociable, Carmen also enjoyed her favorite black and white television shows. She was known for her infectious smile, which could brighten any room and uplift the spirits of those around her.

Carmen’s legacy is one of warmth and positivity, leaving behind fond memories for all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family, who remember her as a force of nature and a beloved presence in their lives.

The loving memory of Carmen Rojas Marks will be forever cherished by her sons, James (Lavona) Marks, North Manchester and John (Dawn) Marks Jr., Hendersonville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ricky Bailey, Tommy Bailey, Tammi Marks, Tawnee Tena, Daniel Marks, Jason Marks, Brandy (Matthew Straka) Marks, Kobie Stoppenhagen, Brittany (Matt) Franklin, and Phillip Marks; and many great-grandchildren. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Jimmy Marks (age 3), Leopoldo “Lee” Marks (May 10, 2000), and Danny Marks (December 27, 2000); brother, John Rojas; sister, Celia Garcia; and grandson, Caleb (Regina) Marks (July 24, 2016).

A formal service will not be held.

The family of Carmen Rojas Marks has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
