Carlene Burke, 75, of Wabash, formerly of North Manchester, passed away on February 17, 2025, at The Waters of Wabash West. Born on June 22, 1949, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to John F. and Fannie (Dotson) Burke, Carlene was a loving woman who cared deeply for her family.

Carlene spent many years of her professional life working at United Technologies in North Manchester until its closure. She transitioned to food service at Manchester College, a role she relished until her retirement. Known for her hard work and sociable nature, Carlene truly enjoyed interacting with people and made friends wherever she went.

At the age of seventeen, she moved with her family to Laud, Indiana and then settled in North Manchester, where they created many fond memories. Deeply rooted in her faith, Carlene was an active member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Claypool, where she found strength and community. She often shared her love for her hometown of Prestonsburg, proudly recounting the stories of her roots.

Family was incredibly important to Carlene, who loved her nephews and great-nieces and nephews dearly, often considering them as her own grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit and kind heart will be profoundly missed.

The loving memory of Carlene Burke will be forever cherished by her brother, John B. (Deborah) Burke, North Manchester; nephews, Nathan (Stephanie) Burke and Dustin Burke, both of North Manchester; her many great-nieces and nephews; and her extended family and friends. Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Fannie (Dotson) Burke.

Family and friends may call Friday, February 21, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor John Dotson officiating. Burial will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
