Bryon T. Utter, 67, North Manchester, IN died at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in Pierceton, IN. He was born April 20, 1948 in Wabash, IN to Ernest and Betty (Woodward) Utter. He married Linda K. (Bucher) on October 2, 1970. She survives. He was parts manager at Shepherd's Chevrolet, North Manchester, IN for several years before retiring in 2012. A Viet Nam Army Veteran, he served as a paratrooper with the 82nd. Airborne Division for four tours of duty. After returning home from Viet Nam he served in the Army National Guard for three years. He served as a reserve police officer with the North Manchester Police Department for several years. He was an avid hunter , fisherman, and he and his wife Linda enjoyed the last two years of retirement camping at Jellystone Park, Pierceton, IN. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Other survivors include his step-father, Robert Sears Sr., Peru, IN . Two daughters, Dawn M. (Matthew) Harding, Ft. Wayne, IN., Kristie R. Utter, North Manchester, IN. Five brothers, Bob (Rhonda) Utter, Talma, IN., Bill Utter, Syracuse, IN., Shawn Utter, Talma, IN., Robert (Debra) Sears Jr., Warsaw, IN., and Willie (Susie) Sears, Peru, IN. Four sister, Pam Sherwood, Talma, IN., Sandy (Dave) Adams, Salem, OH., Pam (Mike) Myers, Newton, KS., and Violet Hunt, Kokomo, IN. Five grandchildren, Shayla Reed, Dwight France, Bryon Moore, Sadie Harding, and Curtiss "CJ" Harding. One brother, Wayne Sears is deceased. Family and Friends may call Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 4 - 8 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Funeral services will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake, IN.
