Bob L. Kamp

June 28, 1927 — December 8, 2016

Bob L. Kamp, 84, went to meet his Lord and Savior on December 8 at 4:15 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, in the ICU following a short illness. He was born on June 28, 1927 in Akron, IN on his Grandfather's farm to the late Katherine (Kamp) Overlander. He is survived by Betty (Mowrer) Kamp, his loving wife of 66 years. He is also survived by two daughters, Linda K. (Kamp) Hyden and Cindy (Kamp) Campbell, and one son, Danny Kamp all of North Manchester, IN. He shares a large, loving family of 9 grandchildren, Linda Marie (Dave) McKee, Candi Brubaker, Kelly Caudill, Jason M. (Betty) O'Hara, James R. (Traci) Hyden, Kara Kamp, John M. Hyden, Ryan (Sarah) O'Hara, and Bob D. Kamp and 16 great-grandchildren. Bob married Betty on October 21, 1945 in Majenica, IN. He served in the US Army, stationed in Italy, from 1945-1947. He retired after 40 years, as a molder, at North Manchester Foundry. He was a member of the American Legion Post #286 and North Manchester Historical Society. He was also an active and dedicated member of Manchester Bible Church in North Manchester. He enjoyed spending time with family, at grandchildren's school and sport activities, church fellowships, concerts, and plays. He also enjoyed reading, working out in the yard, frequent walks, and bicycling. Bob is still survived by two brothers and two sisters, Raymond (Donna) Overlander, Pendleton, IN, Lewie (Kathy) Overlander, Akron, IN, Carolyn Murphy, Rochester, IN and Marilyn (Bob) Cleveland, Peru, IN. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Bonnie Overlander, Akron, IN. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawerence Overlander. Funeral services will be held at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut Street, North Manchester on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Staton and Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Friends and family may call on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 St. Rd. 114 W, North Manchester and one hour prior to services at the church. Bob will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Servia. Preferred memorial contributions may be made to Betty Kamp, 1005 N. Walnut St., North Manchester, IN 46962.
