Beverly Ann (Ingram) Finley, 94, North Manchester, Indiana, entered the gates of Heaven on March 25, 2023. She was born August 5, 1928, in Kent, Ohio to Walter M. and Flora M. (Pember) Ingram. Beve was a 1946 graduate of Lehman High School, in Canton, Ohio, where she was a member of the Quill and Scroll Society and the Acapella Choir. Four years later, Beve graduated from the University of Cincinnati and its Conservatory of Music in 1950, with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She was a member of the University’s Phi Beta music organization.
On September 4, 1954, Beve married E. Dean Finley, when both were students at McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago. Beve partially completed a Masters in Music Education there. Beve joined Dean on their Christian ministry together on the plains of eastern Colorado in 1955 at Weldon Valley Presbyterian church, followed by churches in Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa.
In her lifetime, Beve taught elementary school music, provided private piano lessons, and was pianist for the various churches she and Dean served. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her large library of modern western novels. Her favorite piano selections to play included Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Broadway musical scores.
The loving memory of Beverly Ann Finley will be forever cherished by her husband of nearly sixty-nine years, Rev. E. Dean Finley, North Manchester, Indiana; two daughters, Susan C. Finley, Chicago, Illinois and Janet Finley (Matthew) Long, Littleton, Colorado; and grandchildren, Scott Plant, Angela Plant, Alec Plant, Mark Plant, Anna (Daniel Chenoweth) Long, Jenna Long, and Kajsa Long. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Flora Ingram.
A private graveside will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, at a later date.
