Betty E. Pitts Boardman, 91, North Manchester, IN died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 in her residence. She was born December 26, 1922 in Wabash County, IN to Rusell & Maude (Auker) Abbott. She graduated in 1940 from Chester High School, North Manchester, IN. Betty was a hairdresser from nearly 75 years. She was co-owner of the Vivi-Deane Shoppe, Liberty Mills, IN for many years and was a hairdresser at Timbercrest Senior Living Community from 1980 until her retirement in 2013. She was a member of the Manchester Bible Church, North Manchester, IN. She loved her church and enjoyed her ladies group that met at McDonald's every day. On October 5, 1944 she married James Pitts. He died August 9, 1966. She then married James Boardman on July 23, 1968. He died April 2, 2000. She is survived by one son, Kendall (Becky) Pitts, North Manchester, IN; two step sons, Bill Boardman, Rochester, IN and Jack Boardman, Bourbon, IN; one step daughter, Norma (Howard) O'Dell, Wabash, IN; grandchildren, JP (Dana) Pitts, North Manchester, IN, Tim (Shelly Nice) Pitts, Fort Wayne, IN, Chris (Lora) Cartwright, Andrews, IN, A.J. (Angie) Cartwright, Andrews, IN and Seth (Tiffany) Cartwright, Anderson, IN; 9 step grandchildren, twenty-three step great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Two sisters, Dean Keaffaber and Vivian Reiff, are deceased. Family and friends may call Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Manchester Bible Church, 11721 N 300 E, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Matthew Staton and Rev. Paul B. Cochrane will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Betty E.
