Bernice Louise Mindala

Bernice Louise Mindala, 88, North Manchester, IN died at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in her residence at Peabody Retirement Community. She was born November 28, 1923 in Logansport, IN to William B. & Hazel M. (Glaze) Lambert. On November 27, 1948 she married Mike Mindala. After marriage they set up residence at Fourth & Buffalo Streets in North Manchester and then lived at Third & Walnut Street for the next 52 years. Mike died June 16, 2008. Bernice graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, IN. She was a homemaker and had been employed with Bruce Kramer's Dry Cleaning and the former Montgomery Ward Store in North Manchester. She was a member of Ivy Chapter #69 Order of Eastern Star, Women of the Moose and American Legion Auxiliary all at North Manchester, IN. She is survived by one son, Thomas W. (Jennifer) Mindala, Denver, CO; one daughter, Anna M. (Joe) DuRussel, Reese, MI; three brothers, Wayne (Phyllis) Lambert, Fort Wayne, IN, Raymond (Margaret) Lambert, North Manchester, IN and Ted (Becky) Lambert, Disko, IN; one sister, Lenora Norris, Larwill, IN; four grandchildren, Andrew (KyLeah) Mindala, Anchorage, AK, Sara Mindala, Lakewood, CO, John (Lindsay) DuRussel, Plymouth, MI and Angela DuRussel, Linwood, MI; two great grandchildren, Caden and Elias Mindala. Ten brothers and six sisters are deceased. Services will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. and from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. Monday at Peabody Chapel. Pastor J.P. Freeman and Rev. Sue Babovec will officiate and burial will follow the service at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, IN.
