Barbara J. Hiatt

Barbara J. Hiatt, 78, North Manchester, IN died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:30 p.m. in her residence. She was born December 21, 1931 in Sommerset, IN to Kenneth & Leona R. (Thompson) Rogers. She graduated from LaFontaine High School in 1947. On March 28, 1952 she married Jan C. Hiatt. He died June 17, 2005. Barbara was a nurse at Peabody Retirement Community retiring in 1995. She was secretary of her alumni class of 1947 from LaFontaine High School and she was an avid gardner and loved to make quilts for her family and friends. She is survived by one son, Jan C. Hiatt, Claypool, IN; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Debbie) Petrone, Mansfield, MA and Mrs. Steve (Tammy) Rogers, North Manchester, IN; four brothers, Kenneth (Mary) Rogers, Indianapolis, IN, David (Connie) Rogers, Akron, IN, Steve Rogers, Roann, IN and J. D. (Kathy) Rogers, Roann, IN; one sister, Patty (Doug) King, Roann, IN; six grandchildren, Dennis Hiatt, Claypool, IN, Mindy Rogers, North Manchester, IN, Jon Rogers, North Manchester, IN, Joel Rogers, North Manchester, IN, Danielle Morley, East Bridgewater, MA and Meghan Petrone, Mansfield, MA; and one great grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert's Catholic Church, 1203 SR 114 E, North Manchester, IN. Calling will be Friday, July 23, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, IN and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Father Thomas Kodakassery will officiate.
