Arthur A Gaston

Arthur A. Gaston, 91, North Manchester, IN passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 3:50 p.m. in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN.  He was born March 10, 1926 in Urbana, IN to Russell & Lena (Herriman) Gaston. He graduated in 1944 from Urbana High School, Urbana, IN.   On February 22, 1948 he married Dora F. Deckena.  She passed away August 11, 2015.  Art retired from dairy farming after 41 years.  He was also employed in the maintenance department at both Wagner Industries, Wabash, IN for 11 years and Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester, IN for 21 years.  He also worked at Deneve Insulations, North Manchester, IN for 13 years.  He was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, IN and a past member of the Laketon Lions Club from  1952-1959.  He is survived by son, Roger D. (Carol) Gaston, Warsaw, IN; daughter, Mary L. (David) Moore, Warsaw, IN; brother, David Gaston, Brooklyn, NY; sister, Jean Fleck, Huntington, IN; three grandchildren, two step grandchildren; five great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.  Two brothers, John & Max Gaston, are deceased. Family and friends may call Monday, November 13, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN.  Services will be Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. Pastor J. P. Freeman and Pastor Sue Babovec will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Arthur Gaston, memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901
