Anna Belle (Gardenour) Land

Anna Belle Gardenour Land passed away at Timbercrest Senior Living, North Manchester, Indiana on August 22, 2017 at 4:10 p.m. Anna Belle was born April 23, 1925 in Huntington, Indiana to Donald and Cecil (Divilbiss) Gardenour. She graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1943, where she was involved in drama and debate. Anna Belle marred Bernard W. Land on June 3, 1944. The two were married for 58 years before Bernard passed away on May 18, 2003. During their marriage, Anna Belle worked in public school cafeterias for 20 years and managed a school cafeteria in Elgin, Illinois. While living in Elgin, Anna Belle was a member of the Highland Ave. Church of the Brethren. After living in Elgin for over 40 years, Anna Belle and Bernard moved to North Manchester and became members of Manchester Church of the Brethren. While living at Timbercrest, Anna Belle was a part of the sewing circle, volunteered in healthcare mending, delivered mail to healthcare and worked in the gift shop. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and a generous person. Anna Belle is survived by three sons Larry (Patricia) Land, Palos Heights, Illinois, Ron (Cindy) Land, Eugene, Oregon and Scott (Lou-Ann) Land, Perryville, Kentucky; one daughter Kathy (Dennis) Powell, Palm Desert, California; one sister Lois (Richard) Johnston, North Manchester, Indiana; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Cecil Gardenour, husband Bernard W. Land and one brother. Family and friends may call Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1:00-1:30 at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, Indiana. A memorial service for Anna Belle  will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Timbercrest Chapel. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, 750 West 500 North, Huntington, Indiana. Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate.
