It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amy Honeycutt Weller, who departed from this world and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on April 24, 2024, at the age of 91. Amy was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, on November 8, 1932, to Lawrence and Susie (Vanderpool) Webb. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and caregiver throughout her life.
Amy married Cecil Honeycutt Sr. on September 17, 1952. The two were married for thirty-two years and shared five children together, before Cecil passed on February 7, 1983. Finding love again, Amy married David Weller on August 30, 1984.
Amy's commitment to serving others was evident in her work history, from her time at General Tire to her years in home healthcare and her invaluable contributions at Peabody Retirement Community. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life as she devoted herself to her greatest pleasure, which was her family, creating a warm and loving home for all
Among Amy's many passions were tending to her garden, crafting beautiful crochet pieces, which she taught herself to do, reading, and painting. She found joy in creating special clothing, including crochet baptism gowns and miniature Barbie outfits, showcasing her creativity and attention to detail. Above all, Amy's unwavering faith brought her immense comfort and solace, as she found solace in worshiping Jesus Christ and living out her beliefs with a servant's heart. Amy was a member at Free Will United Baptist Church in Sidney, Indiana, where she enjoyed working, and had an incredible church family.
Amy's memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, David Weller, North Manchester; her children; David (Christine) Honeycutt, Fränkisch-Crumbach, Germany, Vaughn (Michelle) Honeycutt, Avilla, Indiana, Penny (Jim) Swope, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Amy Marie (Tom) Haecker, Roann, Indiana; step-daughters, Brenda (Dion) Shultz, Peru, Indiana and Missy (Gilbert) Moralles, Wabash, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Barbara Roberts, Pierceton, Indiana; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; as well as her church family. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Susie Webb; husband, Cecil Honeycutt Sr.; son, Cecil Honeycutt Jr.; and siblings Ruth Ferguson, Sarah Edith, Lee Ora Webb, Ruben Webb, and Margaret Sue Webb.
Family and friends may call Monday, April 29, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. A funeral service to honor Amy's life will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with calling beginning at 10:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, with Pastor Ward Etsie Allen officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Swank Cemetery in North Manchester.
