Alexis Destiney Avery, 20, Nashville, Indiana passed away in a tragic car accident on October 8, 2019 at 9:39 a.m. in Nashville, Indiana. Alexis was born on December 21, 1998 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania to Melissa Avery.
A graduate from Chambersburg Area School District Senior in 2017, Alexis was a member of the Glee Club and FFA. People who knew her could describe her as someone with a colorful personality that always cared for others and was a wonderful big sister. Alexis enjoyed painting, cooking, reading, and even welding. She had just started at Ivy Tech, were she was working on a degree. Even though her life was ended at a young age, Alexis enjoyed life to the fullest and relished time with her friends and family.
The loving kindness will be forever remembered in the heart of her mother and father, Melissa Avery and Philip Metzger Jr., both of North Manchester, Indiana; three brothers, Isaiah Avery, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Joshua Hollinger and Kole Avery, both of North Manchester, Indiana; one sister, Bethany Hollinger, North Manchester, Indiana; maternal grandparents, Martha (Robert) Orszagh, McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania; grandmother, Doris Mason, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Alexis was preceded in death by cousin and best friend, Ally McDowell.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on October 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Loudon Community Center, 142 Mullen Street, Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania 17224.
