Stanley J. Miller, 52, Akron, Indiana, passed away at his home on August 2, 2023. The son of Kenneth Bussert and Rachel (Kendall) Miller, Stanley was born on August 8, 1970, in Wabash. When Stanley was ten, his father passed away and left him with a passion and talent for playing the fiddle.
During his childhood, Stanley grew up in Somerset, Indiana, and discovered a gift for mechanics, working on both small and large engines. These skills led Stanley to become the owner and operator of McCord’s Auto in Rochester, Indiana and before that worked at Quality Auto Repair. Stanley was also adept at building and repairing his home. He passed these gifts down to his children, Matthew, Trenton, and Timothy. Stanley was a determined individual; when someone told him something couldn’t be done, he found a way to prove them wrong. When he had time away from work or working on his house, Stanley enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening with his sons. He kept a Bible next to his chair, which he read almost every night.
The loving memory of Stanley J. Miller will be forever cherished by his sons, Matthew (Keisha) Miller, North Manchester, Trenton Miller, Wabash, and Timothy Miller, Akron; sister, Dorretta Sue (Richard) Hall, Somerset; seven grandchildren; and the countless people he helped over the years. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents.
